Grand Opening — Woodbine Field 5 (Field of Dreams)

Saturday, July 11th, 2026 was a milestone day for Kingston Thunder as we officially opened
our new Woodbine Field 5 — the Field of Dreams.
This project represents years of vision, partnership, and dedication,
and seeing it come to life was an unforgettable moment for our league and our community.

We extend our deepest thanks to:
• The Toronto Blue Jays – Jays Care Foundation, along with TD Bank, whose support made this dream possible.
• Taggart Construction, for generously donating their services and helping bring this field from concept to reality.
• The City of Kingston, and everyone involved in guiding this project forward
— your commitment to community sport is felt every time our athletes take the field.

A special acknowledgement to Coach Randy Casford,
who launched the Thunder Challenger Program in 2022
through our partnership with the Jays Care Foundation. In just five years,
Randy’s leadership has grown the program tremendously
— and now, our Challenger athletes have a field built
specifically for them to learn, play, and shine.

And heartfelt thanks to Thunder’s Carol Steele, whose dedication, persistence,
and hard work over the past several years secured the Jays Care grant and
helped drive this project from start to finish.
The Field of Dreams simply wouldn’t exist without her.

This field is officially open, and ready for action. Play ball. ⚡️
