Minor Bantams Sweep Ajax in OBA Playdowns

The McCoy Bus Service Minor Bantam Thunder secured a berth in the Ontario Baseball Association playoffs with a 2 game sweep of Ajax at Woodbine Park on Saturday. In Game 1, Aaron Luchuk threw 5 innings of no hit ball in a 5-1 victory. Tom McCabe threw two shutout innings in relief and Ken Allan drove in two runs. In game two, the Thunder had little trouble winning 8-3. Starter Ben Cross and relievers Carter Hoffman and Logan Chartrand combined to scatter 4 hits. Will Van Allen and Wyatt Crampton each drove in 2 runs, with Chartrand, Ryan Bothwell, and Jamie Tan each driving in one. The OBA playoffs go Labour Day weekend in Guelph.
