Long-Toss:
Long-toss is the most important drill in building up arm strength and
stretching out the arm. Start close and work your way out to a tough
distance to reach. Then work your way back in and finish with some strong
bullets, concentrating on accuracy. One or two years of this will show
vast improvement in arm strength.
Choosing A Glove:
The key is selecting a glove you can handle. The individual player should
have the freedom to choose. There are certain ideas about what size
glove fits a certain type of player, but coaches should keep an open
mind. If a players glove appears to be too big, watch him and see how
he uses it. If he uses it well and it doesn't become restrictive to
the movement of his hand, leave it alone.
